junior achievement 2018
Our second grade students were introduced to how citizens benefit from and contribute to a community’s success by participating in Junior Achievement’s Our Community program. Students learn what a community is and the variety of careers that people have in a community. They also learned that workers who produce goods and services earn money for their work. Students locate businesses, pay taxes, and explore government careers. Students also participated in decisions that benefit their school community. They voted to express their choice and to determine the will of the majority to meet a community’s needs. Students learned about money and how it moves through a community’s economy.
